Position - Head of China Product Management / Marketing
This is a
newly created position reporting to the Managing Director of Greater China. The
role is responsible for all product initiatives and projects for the Greater
China business, including the integration of Channeladvisor’s channel
management platform with China marketplaces, comparison shopping, and search
engines and also third party service providers including, but not limited to,
logistics, payment, and others. This person will be responsible for leading the
development, expansion, and operational management of new products and projects
in the region.
Responsibilities
Own a portion of our highly deployed
e-commerce platform, which basically means you have to:
Find out everything we could be
doing - work
with sales, marketing, & customers to understand opportunities for new
features and capabilities that meet the needs of business strategies and growth
(eg business requirements, scope, specifications, and feedbacks)
Know what everyone else is doing - track and analyze competitive
offerings, understand trends and emerging technologies and their impact on the
business
Decide what we should do - work with stakeholders to size
and prioritize options, analyze the options using ROI/CBA/TAM and other
acronyms, stick your neck out with recommendations
Champion new and existing
functionality -
convince others that your crazy ideas actually make sense / challenge existing
product processes and suggest improvements
Make it happen – ensure Greater China
objectives are well-represented during all phases of the platform development
lifecycle (including go-to-market)
Track and manage development - measure and gather feedback from customers
and other stakeholders after release
Candidate Profile
Product
is the heart of most successful e-commerce companies. Channeladvisor is no
exception. Strong knowledge
of the e-commerce supply chain and the most important sense for what the end
users need are all crucial factors describing a successful product leader. The ideal
candidate will need the following competencies to succeed:
User Orientation - this role will have a strong
focus on metrics which track user dynamics and anticipates changing trends that
enable him/her to spot market opportunities. They will have very strong user
insight in terms of what their requirements and pain points to translate hard consumer
data to identify underlying user behavior in order to put together compelling business
cases.
Strategic and Analytical Skills -
successful
products or new releases should align with the company’s business strategy hence
the individual must be well versed in understanding not only the vision and
strategy but also key underlying drivers to get there. Internet products are
complex require big picture perspective as well as logical and strong problem
solving mind-set. Ability to understand and leverage user and system data is
also an important skill.
Results Orientation - This is very important since outstanding
candidates must have a strong drive and commitment to deliver new “killer
application” products or useful revisions to existing products. Such success
metrics are not easy to define, therefore the successful candidate must be able
to define appropriate KPIs which he/she and his/her team will be measured
against. Strong PM also has exceptional project management knowhow to
orchestrate large development efforts and constantly provide support, feedback
and push the project forward.
Collaboration and Influencing - He/she has the ability to spot areas that
need change and champion the case across the organization. He/she also must
have the ability to work proactively across different business units teams is a
must. Typical products require large teams from cross functional areas such as
technology, marketing, sales, finance, in addition to the leadership team and
other PM colleagues in China and back in the HQ. Compromises for the ‘greater
good’ when necessary but can also influence decision making in a sophisticated
manner to ensure necessary resources for own operations. The individual should
also be persuasive enough to engage senior leaders and to change their mind if
necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years product management experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of managing multiple concurrent development
projects through the full product/software life cycle
- Strong understanding of e-commerce, social media, retail inventory
management, search engine marketing, and web analytics.
- Experience with Agile development processes, particularly in a Software
as a Service (SaaS) environment.
- Experience managing an e-commerce operation, or interactive marketing, a
plus.
- Energetic self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit. Experience
starting and leading new initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fluid environment, and
be able to think strategically and independently.
- Ability to work with and indirectly lead a spectrum of teams from
engineering to marketing to sales.
- Willing to be based in Shanghai and travel as needed.
- Fluency in English & Chinese a must (spoken & written).
- Unquestioned work ethics and personal and professional judgment.
Education
Combination
of engineering and MBA degrees from prominent institutions is a big plus

Position - Sales Executive
Due to growth in the Asia Pacific area we have
a vacancy for a suitably qualified sales executive. Our sales executives are responsible for
driving revenue through prospecting, marketing and selling our suite of SaaS
(software-as-a-service), channel management solutions to online retailers, both
large and small. Our Sales Executives have the opportunity to work with
and learn from some of the leading names in eCommerce including eBay, Google
PayPal, Yahoo and Getprice.
This role will see you focus on closing new business with small to mid-sized
online retailers and large enterprises. You will work closely with the
team to ensure customer acquisition and revenue targets are met and exceeded on
a quarterly basis.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and build pipeline.
- Develop, negotiate, and close new business opportunities with online
retailers.
- Help to provide account management and direction to achieve high levels
of customer satisfaction and revenue growth with existing customers
- Increase revenues by developing, communicating and driving effective
selling strategies based on valid, customer-specific value propositions
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of all opportunities, contacts and account
history and provide appropriate communication of such to ChannelAdvisor management
- Manage contracts and agreements to ensure that expectations are being
established, communicated, and met
- Meet and exceed individual annual quotas for contracts/revenue
Requirements

3-5 years
experience selling software or other solutions-based technology offerings,
preferably SaaS

Proven
success in penetrating and developing accounts in the interest of identifying
key decision makers
- Experience selling in a remote
capacity, utilizing technology such as WebEx to demonstrate software and
further articulate the value proposition
- Experience selling to retailers
and manufacturing companies ideal
- Account management experience

experience a plus (knowledge of SEM, PPC technology and services)
- Experience carrying and achieving
toward a high annual revenue quota
- University degree required,
relevant disciplines preferred
